The Urban Institute recently released a comprehensive paper on the status of children’s healthcare in the United States. The intent of the authors is to provide a benchmark prior to the implementation of several key components of the Affordable Care Act. This will make it easier to guage the impact of the ACA on children’s healthcare. The paper also summarizes the expected impact of the ACA on health coverage for children and families.
Among the highlights, the ACA is expected to increase coverage of children in the United States by 40 percent and improve existing coverage for 3.7 million children.
