This is a federally-supported Community Health Center, providing comprehensive primary and preventive health care services in areas of high need. Sumter Family Health accepts Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurances as well as offer a sliding fee program for eligible low income families who do not have health insurance of any kind. They are open Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays 8am-5pm, Wednesdays 8am-1pm, and Thursdays 8am-7pm.

Tuomey Health Care System

Tuomey is a non-profit hospital which offers financial assistance to patients who qualify. Potential financial assistance recipients must live in the Tuomey service region, but there is no income or insurance requirement. To apply, patients must submit proof of income, assets, all family members’ income; the past 6 months bank statements, as well as the previous year’s complete tax forms and all necessary bills. Each case is reviewed by an advocate and a determination of financial assistance is then made. All uninsured patients are given an automatic 30% reduction in costs but actual aid may vary depending on the case.

Sandhills Medical Foundation is a federally-supported Community Health Center providing services to individuals regardless of their ability to pay. Sandhills Medical accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and offers a sliding fee system to low income individuals whom are uninsured. As a Ryan White Act recipient, the Sandhills Medical Foundation can provide treatment for HIV/AIDS.

Doctors Care is a state wide medical provider with 50 office locations. Doctors Care accepts Medicaid and Medicare as well as offers a 25% reduction in fees to uninsured patients.
