Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic serves uninsured adults living at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level who live or work on Johns, Wadmalaw or James Island. Hours are Monday 6pm to 9pm walk-in clinic and Tuesday-Friday 9am to 4pm for scheduled appointments. Potential patients must bring a form of identification, proof of residency, and must complete the patient forms available on their website.

CARES Clinic offers low income uninsured individuals primary health care services as well as occupational and physical therapy, psychiatric services, as well as women’s services. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. CARES operates on a first come, first served basis. Because CARES is student-run, they are limited to just 6 to 10 patients each evening, depending of the number of physicians available.

This is a faith-based medical clinic providing services to people who have no health insurance of any kind, including Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits and have a low household income. Services include primary care and medication to adults between 18 and 65 years of age.  Open 8-5 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday by appointment only. Income must be 200% or less of the federal poverty guidelines.

Doctors Care is a state wide medical provider with 50 office locations. Doctors Care accepts Medicaid and Medicare as well as offers a 25% reduction in fees to uninsured patients.
